A message from your local inspector 📢

Hello, I’m Inspector Matthew Brown, and I am proud to serve as the Local Policing Inspector for North East Derbyshire and Bolsover, supporting the wide and diverse communities that make up our area.

My 17‑year policing career across two forces has been consistently operational and front‑facing, and I have previously worked within this locality. This experience has given me a strong understanding of our communities, their needs, and the challenges we face together.

I have recently returned to the area following a central secondment, where I supported work on the Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee and preparations for the upcoming increase in Neighbourhood Police Officers across the country. This uplift will be felt in our communities imminently, and I am committed to ensuring these programmes are delivered effectively, with the public placed firmly at the centre of our priorities.
